This was our first KCBS competition.  What a whirl wind!  Four categories turned in at half hour intervals.  It was intense, but we got everything turned in.  Everything cooked a little dark, and our appearance scores reflected that.  We took a big risk with the chicken and used the drumsticks.  The judges were not amused.  Still, we came in middle of the pack which isn’t too bad.

Our very first competition!  This is a tailgate.  A tailgate competition is wings and ribs.  There is also a Kids Q (have to consider that for when the kids get older), and two people’s choice competitions: pulled pork and wings.

Highlights: Our wings came in 9th out of 36 teams, our first shout out.  Not bad for first timers.
